New York Jets 2011 3rd round draft pick DT Kenrick Ellis, will spend 45 days in jail, following a guilty plea. Ellis faced the possibility of deportation and 20 years in jail, had he been convicted of an malicious wounding charge, relating from an fight at Hampton University during 2010.

Jets Safety Class: Unexpected Ends and New Beginnings

With more and more nickel packages in the NFL a team needs a solid secondary to keep up with this ever evolving passing league. Last year the Jets carried ten secondary members which consisted of six cornerbacks and four safeties which is very normal for a team to have.

Compared to last year the secondary seems to be a lot more promising going into the upcoming season.

Reports indicate that former Dolphins free agent safety Yeremiah Bell is set to join gang green. The 34 year old is set to commit to a deal believed to be a 1 year contract worth $1.4m including a $200,000 signing bonus.

Tackling The Issue

Right tackle Wayne Hunter shoulders most of the blame for the failings of the o-line during a disappointing 8-8 season.
